Canadian Mesothelioma Foundation

MICA is a supporter of the Canadian Mesothelioma Foundation (CMF), a registered charity that is dedicated to raising awareness and understanding of mesothelioma in Canada. CMF’s mission is to help patients and their families through the diagnosis, treatment and recovery process. CMF initiates and fosters a support network of patients as well as a community of health professionals who specialize in the mesothelioma.

Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer that is almost exclusively linked to asbestos exposure. Over 500 new cases of mesothelioma is reported every year in Canada. The diagnosis of this form of cancer is highly difficult, actual occurrences might be much higher. For more information on CMF and their work, visit their website for more information.

Many of the professionals employed in our field are exposed to asbestos. MICA is committed to the safety of all its members and the employees that work under our member companies.

The Princess Margaret Foundation and Cancer Centre raises over $84 million annually to support breakthrough research, patient care and education programs.
